My question is actually about distribution. I'm interested in starting an alcohol delivery service in Tuscaloosa. This is done in other states and countries. I'm wondering what licenses would be necessary for this. I imagine it being similar to the licenses a liquor store must have. Any help you could give on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

You won't find many answers here, but you could start here: State of Alabama - ABC Board (http://www.abc.alabama.gov/index.aspx - broken link)

Good luck with that. let us know how that goes. I hate to be a skeptic but I wonder if there are legal issues regarding ppl not being of age buying liquor.

Tuscaloosa is pretty much being supplied by a company out of Columbus, GA. Generations of alumni, generous donations and fairly good prices. Breaking in there will take a bit more then cheap booze.

Unless laws have changed, no can do.

Buddy and me looked at doing the same thing a few years back.

Under Alabama law there are two kinds of Liquor Licenses:
-Buy on site, drink on site (bars and restaurants)
-Buy on site, drink off site (gas stations, grocery stores, liquor stores, etc)

No off site liquor sales are allowed in the state.

Sorry. :/
