Work is going on now for the Celebrate Alabama development in Opelika. 60 acres are being developed to start the development. It's located on I-85 in Opelika.

Moderator cut: quoted post removed

The person has obviously never heard of 'Auburn-Opelika' before. Not that its a big surprise since its two small towns in Alabama and that person is from Canada. No need to be condescending. Give 'em a break. Sheesh.

OpelikaMan reminds me an awful lot of NortonGuy from Augusta -- boosterism to poimt of being ridiculous! As for Celebrate Alabama, my sources at the Opelika-Auburn News tell me it will never happen -- at least nowhere on the grand scale as originally proposed pre-recession. Like everything else, this was a true pie-in-the-sky developers pipe dream, not at all grounded in reality.

Newsboy, are you quoting correct news...apparently not!!!! This is not a "pie-in-the-sky pipe dream". evidently, you've never been out of Opelika. Atlanta has Centennial Park and Atlantic Station, as well as, they already have a Celebrate Virginia in Washington D.C.... so tell your so call "news source at the Opelika-Auburn news to get there facts straight and embrace the change.....
