That contract would creat 1500 jobs in Mobile, 5, 000 state wide and 100,000 nationaly. Northrop would creat more jobs than Chicago based Boeing on a national level. Northrop also promised Mobile that if they won the contract we will git an additional 300 jobs in build and manufacturinging commercial aircraft. There have been several Washington Senators who have down talked Alabamians with such comments like " they arent smart enough to build a tricyle" ," do they build anything in Alabama if so do they know how ?" and it gits worse. Then good ol Senator Shelby will step in and the negative comments change to apologise. Statments such as those show the strenghth of there ignorance because Alabama is 2nd or 3rd I believe in auto manufacturing to Michigan and we are the first to send man to the moon. So of course we can build something atleast, lol.
You aren't really contributing to your argument with that grammar and spelling! haha All jokes aside, ALABAMA NEEDS A LOTTERY!

Also, manufacturing jobs aren't always where it's at. Alabama needs to attract more high tech, high pay, clean air jobs like those around Huntsville and Birmingham.

^^^ lol long day, it was a type and go post.

The 40 billion dollar contract would have created a" high tech, high pay, clean air jobs" !! We build high tech vessels for the Navy in Alabama as well. Austal in Mobile won a billion dollar contract with the Navy to build high tech vessels and hopefuly we can have an extension on the contract.

Wanderingport: . I`m more than confident that Georgia wouldn`t turn down a high paying manufacturing job.Even if it`s a company that build drain pipes with 600 jobs with an average pay of 48,000 a year, it`s a job why not.

Sometimes a manufacturing job could be an advantage to a city that`s competing with another over a high tech job.

At least most of the auto manufacturing facilities in AL are owned by non-US brands. Detroit did itself in.
