I have been looking at all of the maps on the respective dominant Cell Phone carrier websites trying to figure out who has the best coverage including 3G.

From what I can tell, Sprint has the dominant 3G market in the Fairbanks and North Pole area. Anyone with recent firsthand experience who can confirm if this is accurate?

My AT&T iPhone with 3G works pretty much all over Fairbanks and North Pole, once you get into the hills, it drops to the "Edge" system (or normal cell coverage). In the Anchorage area, the 3G kicks in about the Big Lake turnoff or so, then is good all the way to Anchorage and most of the MatSu valley. Doesn't seem to be much different in the Area coverage for that matter between the two major carriers in Alaska. My work phone is ACS and it is about a wash for normal services.

Sprint is not in Alaska so maybe they have a reciprocal agreement with ACS or GCI or AT&T.

3G in Fairbanks and vicinity? AT&T, specially with the iPhone.
