And that was the point I tried to make. A lot of the people getting lost or stranded near the bus are rescued by State Troopers and sometimes by Parks Service. When the Troopers do it, the State pays for it.

The questions one must ask them self (and the government must also ask itself) is:

Is the Bus a nuisance and/or creating a hazard?

If we look at recent events, it appears it is quickly headed that way. Either the Bus needs to become more accessible (safer route, bridge over the river) or it should be moved to a museum. Either way, the story peaks the curiosity of the general public and they will want to see it, even if it means risking their life to do so.

Nature can be very pretty and it is also very dangerous and unforgiving. It kills people of all outdoor living experience levels, but the un-prepared or unskilled get killed in higher numbers. For that reason and having grown up with all the modern conveniences of modern life, I know better than to just trek out "into the wild".

I can definitely say, that when I make it to visit AK, the BUS will not be on my "bucket list" of stops.

What gets me is the Sheeple that want to go see some other guys dream that killed him.

Why don't they go out and start their own dream someplace else instead of being a clueless follower of a guy who didn't know what to do right to save his own hide.

Been one thing if a grizzly smacked him an had a meal off him, but he died of his own accord and can't blame anyone but his own incompetence!
