Ice Road Truckers don't drive the road in the fall, though, at least not on the show. Wouldn't be much of an ice road if they did, of course. They drive it year round. But when it gets cold enough they spray down a few inches of water to even out the ruts and washboard. Also, more sites off the road open up in the oil fields so they move those supplies mainly in the winter.
