I want to move to Alaska, but......

I have never been there, and I don't make changes without as much legwork as possible first.

My job is here, and I don't have one lined up in Alaska. Honestly not looking right now either.

I am sure that I don't want to "live off the grid", build my own cabin, live a subsistence lifestyle, "get away from it all", leave civilization behind, or have several months without sun.

I want to move to Alaska, but......

Well, I still want to move to Alaska!

The beauty of the land that I have only seen in pictures. The different weather that I know little about. The chance to learn a different lifestyle, find more friends, experience new things, and a chance to live someplace that is not so HOT all the time....

Sure, I can find all that in West Virginia, or Colorado, or maybe Oregon. I just do it too, when/if the opportunity arises.

But something I can't define puts Alaska at the top of the list.

Besides, my life has always worked out well for me, through all the good decisions and bad. If a move were to happen to Alaska, or any other place, my life would still work out fine even if I did not like it.

So, "I want to move to Alaska, but....."

Frankly, it just ain't time yet.

I'm moving to Alaska when they set aside a holiday for all the lower 48 transplants/transients.

Call it here today gone tomorrow day.

In my view, people (not always US citizens) want to move there because of a job and of course, the stunning nature.

I think a lot of people find the low population and natural beauty appealing.

I would love to live in Alaska however I wouldn't even think about it unless I had a way to earn a good living.
