Italians thick as flies just now and none of them speak English. Don't worry, Stiff, I doubt that any of them are illegals...just visitors. It's possible to communicate with Italians with Spanish so we shall see. I can't speak Spanish either though but I can somewhat understand it. My son is here and hopefully retained enough Italian. Oh, and two employees ran away together or some such bs, found a love connection I guess. FFS. Just when I thought the season was winding down.

it's possible for Spanish speakers and Italians to communicate. I can usually understand them a little but I can't speak it well but their loot is as good as anyone's.

No problems with Italian tourists or immigrants as long as they came in the front door. I don't have any problems with any legal immigrants. It's the illegals that twist my noodle. Unless you've travelled through the southern states extensively then you don't really have an understanding of the problems they are creating....

That's true. If one understands or speaks Spanish and someone is speaking Italian, one can understand quite a lot of the words in Italian. Long time ago while when having a cup of coffee at the former "Road Kill Cafe" in Chitina, an Italian tourist and I were trying to understand each other while speaking both Italian and Spanish. Then he switched to a flawless Spanish and we continued with the conversation in this language. He had a little trouble speaking English, but since I speak Spanish and a little Italian, we had no trouble communicating.

Well...back to moose hunting. Came home yesterday to take a shower and sleep on a soft and comfortable bed. And yes, Met! To share hugs and hot kisses with my beautiful wife

P.S. Haven't seen any bull bull close enough to hunt, but as usual I am having a great time out there spending time with a few friends, camping, taking pictures, and enjoying the smoke from the BBQ pit in the middle of the campsite

People, this is a momentous occasion. For I believe the first time ever in the history of Alaskan City-Data, I agree with stiffy. You really have to see and experience it firsthand to understand the extent of it. But I don't want to get into a political debate, I just thought it was worth pointing out that I actually agree with this guy on something. It really is a much more complicated issue than we could discuss here.

Its not really that complicated SOF.. These illegals are killing people in this country and they don't give a damn about anything cept Obama providing them with amnesty - citizen ship - social security - medical benefits and every other entitlement hand out imaginable.

Illegal means get out !! That stops the problem(s) they are creating.

Ship of Fools: If you ever get the change to meet Stiffnecked in person; I am sure you will agree on a lot more than just this one view he shares.

I was most impressed with this gentleman when we met in person. The second meeting was the most memorable. He is the most down to earth sensible person I have had the pleasure to associate with in a long time.

There is much about what these illegals are doing that the news media won't touch. It is happening in every city in the U.S. and the media is tight lipped and closed mouth about the whole sorid mess.

Oh.. and for what it is worth (nothing) I am 1/2 Italian! (chuckle) I can make the best pizza you have ever tasted.. .. from scratch! One of my favorite joys is "cooking' Italian food(s). I was taught well!!

It's not just the southern states. Big time problems in WA, too.
