Would love to hear from a man who is looking for love again. Was married for 31 years, now divorced. I lived in country all my life, now living in town and don't care for it much. I have always wanted to come to Alaska, so why not. Life is too short to wait your life away. Not a bar person, so not meeting people. Im tired of being lonely, so im taking a chance. How bout you? I'm having a hard time figuring this forum out. So be patient please. ha ha

Maybe you should advertise on Craig's list, but from the last time I looked, there's a lot of competition. I guess the tv show "Men in Trees" is having that effect.

I say don't believe everything you see on TV with Men in Trees and Northern Exposure and all the stuff permeating the media and all these big, romantic dreams. Decide if Alaska is somewhere you want to build a life, not for the men you may or may not catch, but because you want to be there. And I don't mean be there in the sense of visiting Denali during the summer to be caught up in the romance of it all, only to complain about the 7-8 months of winter weather to follow. I have been up to Alaska during all seasons and spent a good deal of last winter with its record snowfall there, so I know what I am getting myself into, but the way of life for me outweighs alot of the other things (cost of living etc) that people might see as negatives. I dont want to bring the lower 48 attitude up there and plop a Trader Joes at every corner. I think that is the sort of attitude people need to have when they go to Alaska. She is a beautiful and mighty state. Her nature makes her awesome. Her people make her wonderful What can you offer her? What can you bring to her?

The men may or may not be in trees. Can you make that move and live with that?

Cobolt

I always wondered about that title men in tree's. I had this picture of men hanging from tree limbs like monkeys. Maybe it is more like men living in the woods? I did see one show (while in Sweden) and I saw nothing similar other than the regulars sitting in the same bar for the few days the show covered.

Are you saying there's a lot of single, desperate women in Alaska?

Oh that seals it, I'm moving.

LOL--NO. I'm saying that there seem to be a lot of ladies from the lower 48 who are looking for Alaskan men there.

I don't have tv so I read Craig's list now and then.

Default wow

Thats quite a response. Honestly i have always wanted to go to Alaska, and i have lived in the mts before, so im not a city slicker. My kids went to a one room school house for years when they were little. So don't assume anything about me and the freaking tv, if you don't mind. Just looking for correspondence with like minded people. Looks like i stepped on a few toes, ouch! What the heck is craigs list anyway?

LOL, no, I don't think you stepped on any toes. I think that people were just joking; I know that I was.

this is craig's list:

craigslist: alaska classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events

You might want to check it out, it has job postings and places to live, etc.

There are plenty of guys in AK. Not really many singles on this particular forum. You might stop in at the "relationships" forum and poke around. Your best bet would be to just get up here and start looking!

More than likely, if you move to Alaska and find that special man, he will more than likely be from where you left orginally.

My advice is find that special man that also wants to move to Alaska!
