A couple more from the back forest. I loved the play of light on this cluster of leaves...

Back forest today...does anyone know what bird this is? They are wee piggies and are eating me out of seed.
Maybe a nuthatch? I have them as well and they are non stop flying off with seeds! I even had a pair nest in a box in the yard this summer! I also have about 20 chickadee's that are all day long flying off with seeds. Keep feeding them! They are nice to have around in mid-winter!

Oh yes, the chickadees are swarming around...usually arguing with the blue ones. I'll have to look that up, Rance, but thanks.

No...the aforementioned bird has a blue hue to its back. I looked it up and it is a red-breasted nuthatch. That one in the photo is a male.

The last berries of the season are ready, low bush cranberries. People pick them after the first frost, this happened late last week.
