It's really pretty, but still five hours each way, and when you get there you're in Anchorage. I start remembering how much I don't want to be in Anchorage about the time I get to Palmer.

I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5. I used to have a Lumix TZ1 that was destroyed shortly after I moved here, and when I destroy this one I'll probably get another Lumix.

Absolutly stunning pictures. Do you ever wonder how people can live their whole lives and never see the beautiful things that surround us, the sheer wonder of a natural world?

We were closer to Girdwood. From that park with the beluga statue thingys to the last pulloff toward Girdwood. Should be another this evening about 5:30 or 6PM. All along those big steel towers along the highway. It's a rush standing down near the water when it comes.

Thanks. I drove down yesterday but didn't quite make it to Bird Point. Found a nice little rocky outcrop and sat there in the sun watching a seagull harass an eagle and just enjoyed the scenery for an hour or so. It was so beautiful yesterday. Can't make it tonight but I see there may be some activity for tomorrow early evening.

A friend of mine had his skis replaced by wheels today, off to the airport from the river strip.
