lol. not here. I can say that over here we are struggling to get any pumpkin of a decent size. I did get my first ever pumpkin this year, but it was only one and not that big. I thought they were sort of like squash and could grow more than one on each palnt? Doesn't matter I am still excited to have one.

The growing season in the interior of Alaska is extremely short, so it's amazing that such a big pumpkin can be grown in two or three months. I imagine that the had to let it grow indoors at the beginning, because the ground is frozen sometimes toward the end of May.

Ray, one week of the growing season where you're at is = to three weeks in places like the Napa Valley.

You gotta pick off a few blossoms slightly after pollination to get pumpkins of good size. Let them grow a bit and then choose the best one/ones. One of the tricks to growing these super-big pumpkins is to only let one bloom set fruit so that it gets all of the plant's available nutrients. Keep in mind these huge ones are usually F1 hybrids developed specifically for size.

GrammasCabin, have you had any luck with pumpkins over your way? The time or two I tried on POW, the ground was just too soggy and damp.
