BarrowsBaby is someone I know personally. The other kick in the rear for this is that she hasn't lived in Barrow for maybe 3 years now!

She was born and raised here. She didn't have problems with Barrow, but she certainly had problems with family. The entire family left, some to get away from each other and some to stay close to each other. :-)

Whatever, she is doing very well in the Lower-48 and has developed a couple of talents, one of which is creative writing. We had just discovered that she enjoyed having a camera lens pointed at her, so I'm always hoping that she will eventually come back home. I have no idea if that will happen or not, but it would make me happy! (She is a very attractive model.)

Lots of luck on looking for a job here via the Internet. It works for teachers and medical professionals (doctors and nurses), but generally not for anyone else with the few odd rare exceptions (which are all for highly skilled jobs).

The way to get a job in Barrow is to choose a day to search for a job, and then find a way to wake up that morning and look out your window to see Barrow. If you see anyplace else, it won't happen that day. And I should warn you that for a good paying job in Barrow it isn't what you know, it's who you know. Hence a crap job might well be available on the 2nd or 30th day you see Barrow when you wake up, but a good job might take having that view 800 times.

Bill Hess is probably the best Alaska photographer there is.
