You too - Starlite.

I would also like to thank the people on this forum who have given me great advice and help in determining where and whether Alaska is a fit for me or not. I hope that 2013 brings new opportunities and that we are all able to take advantage of them.

I saw two bumper stickers that I thought were great and poignant during the times were are in today:

- I love my country, it's the government I am afraid of.

- There are not blue states or red states, just the United States.

Have a Happy New Year.

The same applies to all Americans, this Rich verses Middle Class warefare stuff has got to stop. Those that have money hire those of those that don't. When the government takes money away from those that hire, jobs are going to go away... Basically it's that simple.

Hope the New Year will bring some sanity to America, but so far I only see it getting worse, would live to be proven wrong!

Happy 2013 from Sweden! 10 hours ahead here - have already had some fun talks with people back in Alaska. Kind of a cool feeling "being" a year "ahead"

Happy New Year from me too everyone!

What ya all doin' tonight? I'm all excited 'cause I get to do the laundry. It's raining like crazy after a month of snow & cold, my water tank is full. I'm washing everything, got sheets over the balcony, shirts & pants on hangers all over and the folding racks in front of the stove. Looks like a cosy chinese laundry in here.
Just about time to break open a bottle of last summer's blueberry wine - a toast to City Data - good company here!

I agree.. We've got to work together to get through this, if we do things will turn around. If we don't, as we have not been doing so far, then I can only see things getting worse. I am in that 'middle class' that is getting squeezed out, and not into the wealthy class.

-- As far as NYE activities - staying home with the kids. Although I have to go to work early in the morning so I can't exactly party all night, even if I wanted too. So we will sit down and the porch and listen to the sounds of automatic gun fire as the year winds down. I just love the smell of burnt gun powder in the morning. My hope is that I don't end up with a bullet hole in something, especially in a family member or myself. That happens down here far too often as idiots don't understand that what goes up, must come down. Bullets are not fast enough to break Earth's gravity. Although sometimes we get Darwin Award contenders that shoot themselves.

Have a safe and fun New Year's Eve, everyone. I brewed my last Bert of the year today, a macadamia nut brown ale, and now we're headed off to two, maybe three different parties. Not going to be a late night though, since my guy has to work at 6am. Then tomorrow it's champagne, breakfast, and a Bourne movie marathon at a friend's house.
