Lived in Nome 1994 to 2000, but moved to West Virginia. Considering moving back to either the Mat Valley area, specifically Palmer or Wasilla, but like what little I know about Talkeetna. Is the weather much colder there than in Wasilla area? Are people there fairly receptive to newcomers? Overall, as far as road system small towns, Talkeetna seems like a pretty fair place to settle. I have been in the Kenai Peninsula towns like Soldotna, Homer, Kenai, Seward, etc. but prefer Talkeetna over them (I think) even though it's smaller. Any info would be appreciated.
