Nice blog and that is really great you get to teach your kids survival skills. Even better it counts for school credits (and it should). To be honest, schools have really dropped the ball in that areas of practical knowledge. They are too concerned about standardized testing.

We did a one week survival class in junior high in the everglades, but that was cancelled a couple of years later and they no longer do it.

You get a pass on the spelling, the L and the K are next to each other on the keyboard, so we know it was a legit typo.
