I'd really like to know because I'm doing a big road trip to scour my country for jobs, but figured I'd stop by Alaska as my last stop. Is it worth it? Any info is appreciated. I'm also going to stop by North Dakota.

Start here with your reading...

Work in the U.S. | USA.gov

Can you work in the US as a Canadian Citizen, yes. But there are rules and forms to fill out. Just like anything else.

Alot of non-US citizens work in Alaska during the tourist season. Coolworks.com is a good place to start. Although it sounds like you want an Oil & Gas job? Tough for anyone to answer your broad brush questions.

Dakster got you started in the right direction it appears. I have known, and know foreigners who lived and work in Alaska legaly for years. A couple of them became U.S. citizens in the end.

I get the impression it is quite common. Alaska is quite the "melting pot" with many people and ethnicities from around the globe, here for employment, and entrepeneurs alike.

Why would someone in Alaska want to play a Canadian Citizen? Is their a big name production coming to town... Seen a lot of "Soapy Smith's", but maybe "Dudley Do-Right" could work out well...

Just kinda jumped out at me...

I met many Canucks who worked the North Slope flying thru Anchorage.

They still live in Canada though.

As long as you have a green card to work in the US as a foreign National, you can work just about anywhere in the U.S.
