The last thing Alaska needs is more threat to the migration patterns of the endangered species in the last frontier state. The parts of Alaska that are truly wild you can tell by the natural amount of dense boreal, mud, mosquitoes, elk, moose, bears, deer, caribou, reindeer, mountain lions and you want to take this all away for concrete?

You want a city go to New York.

I have only ever seen one mountain lion on the peninsula. Years ago. And the fish and game had no idea what it was doing here. They don't normally reside in this state.
I also have never seen reindeer in the wild. Those are more in Europe I think.

We need more cities like this country needs another Obama for president. Thanks...but no thanks.

There was a penguin in SE Alaska a few years ago that came up on a seine net. It was alive, and walked around on deck. The best they could figure out was that it came up somehow on a boat that had been around Cape Horn.

Just to clear up some details...
The only elk in Alaska are herds that were transplanted in the '20s to Afognak, Raspberry & Etolin Island. And they aren't endangered. Reindeer in Alaska are a domesticated animal, not a wild animal. While a few mountain lions have showed up in Alaska (mainly in Southeast), they are not consider native to Alaska. The moose, caribou and bear populations are at healthy levels. And I'd be thrilled to see the mosquito become an endangered species.
