This is a great board! I am coming to Alaska in the spring of 2015 to get a feel of the place and make contact with some real estate agents. I thought I would start of in Anchorage and just see what I can see. I have a long career in oil and gas and will be dropping off resumes. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

Go idea to visit first and put in job resumes in person, if possible. Get a feel for the place. We visited first... Still have a plan that we can go back to the lower 48 if this doesn't work out as well.

I am also moving to Alaska....right about the same time as you. Like you, I have an occupation that is perfect for the Alaskan economy....healthcare, while hubs is an airline pilot for Alaska Air
