How can you guys in Anchorage, Fairbanks and BARROW live in a place that has 9 months winter and a summer that the hottest days are 75ish degrees.

I don't understand .

How do you live in weather that's in the 90's with 100% humidity? We don't understand that either.

MY fiance has lots of family in Alaska....when she visited a few years ago, it was in the 80s and 90s for a lot of her visit....never say never. Plus Alaska is a large place, the climate in Barrow and the climate in Juneau are going to be two very different things.

People have been doing it for thousands of years... You adapt and adjust. I'd rather be in -10 degree weather than anything over 80 degrees.

How can you live in a state that has such a high population in such a small area?

You adjust quick. This was my first winter here. It was over 50 degrees today and I was actually somewhat hot working outside. People in Florida dress for the polar vortex when it gets below 60. I saw a convertible corvette with it's top down in fairbanks this morning at 37 degrees.

The scenery and wildness of it all quickly make up for any lack of heat, at least for me. If Alaska had perfect weather it would just be called Southern California. The extreme cold keeps at least some of the vermin at bay.

Please let me know of places where temperatures are ever in the 90s with 100% humidity. I don't know of any. Certainly not in the lower 48.
