Depending on the cloud cover, Rance, you may see the Lights. Perhaps we should make a thread dedicated to Aurora predictions and alerts/outlooks.

Tonight:
"AURORA OUTLOOK: Earth is exiting one solar wind stream and heading for another. The old stream sparked bright Northern Lights on Sept. 3rd-6th. The new one could re-energize the display when it arrives on or about Sept. 13th. Sky watchers from Alaska to Scandinavia should be alert for auroras this weekend."
From SpaceWeather.com -- News and information about meteor showers, solar flares, auroras, and near-Earth asteroids

Already, they have begun at the Poker Flat Research Range:

The webcam can be viewed here for those who didn't see the prior post regarding this:

Edit to add: one can insert their zip code and check on chances to see the Aurorae:

Just went to Indian Summer Festival on Sunday, it's my favorite festival....it was also the ONLY festival I went to this summer except for Harley but that doesn't count. Let's see, got some sage & burnt it around my apartment to get rid of the evilness that my former friend brings into my life, my friend that I got rid of this past Friday. I feel much more at peace now, it's amazing what getting rid of someone who's weighing you down mentally does for your psyche!!

I opted to "not" bring my camera to work this time. I'd imagine I will see them every night this hitch!

No camera. Really nothing to shoot this time of year up here. I'm working nights so I won't be able to just jump in the truck and go northern lights hunting either. It was so windy this morning I think most of the leaves will be gone when I get home. We are planning on heading to Chena Hot Springs when I get home. So we're hoping to see some northern lights when we're up there.

Just so you know Rance, the Chena resort doesn't allow pets in the rooms. I just called them up & they told me that they would be willing to let our dog stay with us if I gave them a $200 non-refundable deposit.

I think I can find a dog sitter for 2 or 3 days no problemo.
