People need to stop ragging on the OP. There's plenty to do in Alaska that doesn't involve a plane or a boat. Particularly in winter when the touristy flight seeing and marine tours things are mostly shut down.

Let me guess -- you've taken a cruise to Alaska and think you know everything.

The trip the OP has proposed doesn't require planes or boats. A jet? Yes...but she states that she is fine with a jet.

I'd never carry one without the safety, all it takes is one misfire...

Yes! Of course! That's it! LOL

Let's see, which one was it that made me think that I should thoroughly research exactly what I wanted to do, and what I wanted to see, and perhaps firstly narrow down the appropriate time of year, seeing as how it snows a lot in Alaska, and me having no experience driving in snow, before I showed up on a forum and asked for some advice on paved roads I might could go down and see "the wilderness" while travelling "loosely" by the seat of my pants with a 14yo old boy.

Was it Buying Alaska? Was it Deadliest Catch? I can't remember.

Then you're just a boor, along with several others in this thread who've chosen, for whatever weird reason, to pile up on the OP like a bunch of pathetic jackals.

Oh, and for the past few years, there's been so little snow in March that driving in it really isn't a factor.

Looks like some of you clowns took the trollbait Howest2008 posted and ran with it.
