No problem. However, depending on age of vehicle, it might be bad to put it in reverse at 40 MPH.

You don't have time to deal with this with all the salmon running. I'll take it off your hands for $1000 as is . Just put it on the ferry towards haines and I'll pick it up from there. My Nigerian prince friend will actually wire you twice the asking price for your troubles.

Did you try the automotive section on here? Pretty helpful people there. Good luck.

No, it's not bad for a vehicle to bump it into Neutral. Just make sure you're on the road by yourself (no other vehicles) and keep your foot off the gas pedal until you put it back into Drive.

I put it on the ferry this morning, 67! You'll be able to pick it up in Haines on Saturday.

Boy, I haven't felt that stupid in a long time.

But, happy ending... the 4Runner is not burning oil. I'd rather feel dumb than deal with a vehicle that's burning oil any day!
There is a slight chance...and I'm just guessing here...that if you park a vehicle and don't run it...it won't use much oil.

lol, I never added oil when the dipstick showed it was a quart low because I didn't have any conventional oil, which is what the numbskull I bought it from has been running in it.

So, to you, Rance!!
