I know most of them on LBZ personally and have also been filmed a couple of times with Susan so I can say without a doubt, it is not scripted. They might ask questions or ask you to repeat what you just said so they can get it on a different camera angle or get your face out of the shadow of someone who just walked up, but not scripted.

Yes that's a silencer so as not to scare the game off as Stiffneck said.

Yes they really live like that.

Port Protection is not considered to be in the bush.

I was contacted by a reality show producer from Colorado maybe a couple of months ago. Just no. I doubt they would have been interested anyway after finding out we're not characteristically "colorful" enough except on days like yesterday with deliver drivers crashing into every goddamn thing in sight.

ETA that I've heard that LBZ isn't scripted, and I have no problem believing what 1star says, but I wouldn't want anyone to get the idea that the rest of these shows are crafted with that level of integrity.

This explains it pretty well:

No around around here seems to have anything good to say about Billy Brown. Seems he pretty much scammed his way through all of SE -- even tried to scam an old woman out of her house.
