Sure we do. I'm listing my dog and cat this year as kids so I can even more loot. We all have the option of starring in our own reality shows as well.

No. Highest is around $2k. One year Palin signed in a energy refund (or what ever it was called at the time), and got $1,200 more, but my memory is fuzzy on how much to be exact. I think the total was close to or over $3k.

Some years are as low as $800, and with how much every thing costs, plus the long distances between towns and trails to hike. The money does not go far - plus, it is taxed.

I've met many people over the years, and some have admitted to wanting the PFD. They usually are gone within 3-5 years.

And this year, our broke assed government is taking half of what ever it is because they didn't budget correctly.

I think it was called an energy "rebate."

Personally, I can't wait until the check goes away, and it will. I hope the self-entitled crybabies disappear with it. Alaska will be better off without so many takers.

Every fall it's the same thing when the check comes -- domestic violence and other crimes skyrocket. Parents blow their kids' money on god knows what (including drugs and alcohol). People who have been in the state less than 10 years act like the check is their birthright. I also think the check brings a bad element here.

I do understand that many elders actually use it for living expenses such as heating fuel, so I hope the state manages to fund energy assistance programs for them.

Even if they did, everything is EXTREMELY expensive there. Like $50 for regular laundry detergent. That stipend wouldn't even make up the difference.
