Also, you won't be selling a truck and trailer for a profit in the new Ak economy.

Have some basic cod weather gear and easy to eat energy food, bring a good camera but leave the paranoia in Texas.
The guy asked for advice, I gave it to him. I don't see what I advised that amounts to packing for an expedition. Everything I mentioned I used last week, other than the boots and sleeping bag. This is the type of thread where contributing is better than criticizing.

As for selling a trailer, I did just that. Made a tidy little profit on one I brought up last year and sold this year.

Well I greatly appreciate the advice. I’ve almost got my company convinced to increase my relocation package enough to ship my car.

Nice things about driving the Alcan in winter: no Rv's, potholes filled in with snowpack, construction is not there like summer time.

ps. not all fuel stations are open in the winter time, so fill up when you can. stay away from scenic routes and I've heard the buffalo/bison's eyes do not glow back from car light reflection, so hitting one of those speed bumps will not be pleasant. they like to lay on the road to sleep.
