As far as thunderstorms in the valley area...many? Severe? Evidently not tornadic. I like a fine thunderstorm...am usually the idjit one sees out shooting images of lightning.

Ok, this may sound a bit strange,but.... I've always liked a really active thunderstorm, I find them soothing, particularly in my seriously mis-spent youth (still do, of course) they made me think that nature had as bad a temper as did I. In time, my temper abated quite a bit. Nowadays I really like the smells after the thunderboomers roll past, the lights, and the sounds the winds create as they hurry through my woods, are great extras.

Doesn't sound strange in the slightest...I am the same way. Hardly anything more exhilarating - IMO

Thunderstorms / lightning create a clean source of ozone which cleans the air and gives it that sweet fresh smell. Also they create negative ions which attach to airborne particulate and removes them from the air which we breathe. Thunderstorms are great.
When I lived in Arkansas back in the mid 80's I would get up at 3:00 am just to sit and watch lightning out the window.
