I don't really have much of a problem with mosquitos. I used to back when I was a kid, but not so much now. Might have something to do with my diet.

The noseeums are what bother me the most, or the biting flies.

Is it true that if you eat a lot of garlic the bugs won't bite you?

I am not certain...my grandmother swore by garlic, taking the capsules on a very regular basis. The odour would ooze from her pores it was that strong. Nothing much could stand to be around her.

I knew a guy back when I was in school that had gotten a tongue piercing and use to swish listerine all during the class we had together... I'll never forget the smell and his swollen tongue. Yuck. When I was a kid I thought mosquitos attacking you was genetic. My mother and grandfather both had no effects but they'd take me and my grandmother out for the count. lol Xa'at has it right I think, it has something to do with your diet. But Vampires, mosquitos - the crazy bloodsuckers are all connected.

I have a friend that swears by those coiled bracelets btw. Never tried them myself.

There's your answer then

My problem is finding a sunblock for redheads. Nothing seems to work for me...and I have tried nearly everything on the market. I had 2nd degree burns last summer...I really don't care to go through that again.

Found this
How Attractive Are You? To Mosquitoes, That Is

"But we don't need to do anything to attract insects. We give off hundreds, maybe thousands, of natural scents that bugs, particularly mosquitoes, just love.

"So far, we have found more than 340 different chemical scents produced by human skin, and some of these attract mosquitoes," says ARS chemist Ulrich R. Bernier."
