Sill looks beautiful, at least to some of us. That should keep some folks from wanting to move-in, which is not a bad thing

The city and state are out in force today thawing them out. If I go out and about I'll take more pictures.

The thing I've noticed the most about houses in Alaska is that they are not generally good looking.

I'm sorry they're not like the houses on the plantation there, Barkley.

Before long, people will be going down to the river to watch arrival of the first barge. As you can see they are stacked very high. These pictures are several years old:

Yes, everyone gets excited about the first barge. Trucks and cars are in decent shape when they first come off of them.

Now thats a load!

Yeah Barkley around most parts there are more important things than trying to impress the neighbors or keeping up with the Jones'. And weather conditions are to the extreme. Building supplies are costly so buying and shipping tons of bricks would be a waste of money which can be better spent on appliances or heating. There are many homes that are one of a kind mansions on the inside...yet look rather plain on the outside.
And as in my case...since I built out of pocket and didn't ball and chain myself to a bank with some huge loan...T111 siding and paint is good enough.

I've noticed that on the MLS searches I've been doing with my future lottery winnings. Thanks for putting it into perspective for me.
