This is THanksgiving! There's no lasagne in Thanksgiving! Turkey, check. Sweet potato casserole, check. Parker House rolls, check. Mashed potatoes and giblet gravy, check. Stuffing, check. Cranberry sauce, check. Fillet of salmon, check. Desserts, check. Lasagne... lasagne.... lasagne... LASAGNE? I don't think so! I am NOT spending 3 days in that postage stamp of a kitchen. Must have books, must have PS3 breaks. Must sleep (sometime).

See if I ever share my recipes with you guys again. Hmmph.

OK, I admit to being flattered (and modestly proud !). But I have a table with 5 chairs because the others won't fit! Y'all are sitting out on the deck, and that's final!

PS Don't share with the ravens and magpies, as they come back all winter long.

Hehehe, mal...
You aren't alone, my 15 year-old towers over me.

We have a rule...if the husband cooks then I clean. If I am allowed to cook, then I clean I don't mind doing the rather mindless chore.

I find it a lot easier to wash up as I use them. That way if I need it again, it is fresh as the proverbial daisy and ready to hand.

The husband has a slightly different philosophy. A clean dish is a wasted dish.

I kind of agree with him on that. But then again I'm not afraid of doing dishes either

Mal, make a cranberry/orange relish this year to liven things up. Take a bag of fresh cranberries (3 cups), toss them into a sauce pan with 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of sugar and bring to a boil. After about 5 minutes, when the majority of the cranberries split, remove from the heat and add about 2 tablspoons of orange zest, one peeled orange cut into small pieces, and a splash of Grand Marnier liqueur. Mix well, and chill before serving. This will last about a week in your refrigerator, so you can make it a day or two before.

This relish also tastes good with small pieces of apple and chopped walnuts added.

OOOOooooh! That sounds really good. Must add to my repertoire, lest my rep as a chef of the Escoffier school falter and fail. The biggest problem I see is somehow disposing of the rest of a bottle of Grand Marnier. I will have to hire a couple of friendly boozers to dispose of the better portion.
