Then the whale remains in the water, and it is cut up / divided from crew members working from inside of the boats.

Each trail is the sole property of the Captain and crew that did all of the work.

It is much too warm out today, about 5 above zero. We need these temps to drop to 30 or 40 below for the ice to get thicker. Meanwhile we sit in town and wait for conditions to change so we can head out to the lead opening and setup camp.
ohhh come on!!...feed the stupid people to the Polar Bears!!! they need to eat and less stupid people good for the world!!!

I can bring you safely out to the ocean ice for an intimate view of these people, in ways never before seen, so up close and personal. I promise you hours of listening, enjoyment inside the tent, for story telling videos !! I can put you inside that umiaq to feel the excitement and the thrill of 'our way' of obtaining food.
JessE, how true! I've been couple of times to Chemawawin First Nation on Cedar Lake in Manitoba, Canada and story telling is the way to kill time, pass down the knowledge and experience. And they have a gift for that! I had a great time meeting those people, boating with them and listening to the countless stories of hunting and fishing.

My wife has been using a Lumix for a couple years. I was surprised at the zoom capability and the hundred other options that tiny camera has.

Ah yes indeed, I purchased mine in Point Hope in 2007, I just love that lens. so much so, that I drew the camera, in a program called 3D studio Max. I just broke the camera down into simple shapes, added textures and lights and it is difficult to tell.. .. this is not a photograph but a 3d drawing !!

3D studio Max is my favorite program to create in ! Anything you can possibly think of can be created, animated to obtain photorealistic renderings. 80% of todays games are made using this program.

And you have time to whale??

Wow! I bought a Lumix camera for a friend in Europe couple of years ago. He likes it a lot.
Myself though, I always used Canons. I have a point and shoot Nikon (10MP) too, but currently I am waiting for the new Rebel T1i to ship to stores. That will be it for a long time for me.

The wind is west (no good) the lead has closed, we wait.. .. ! The temps are much too warm. Snow is melting on the streets of Barrow, you need boots to walk around with this slush all over the place. Breakup is a messy time of year.
