I was messing around in photos and ran across this one I took of Chief Shakes Glacier near Wrangell summer of 1988

Then I found one from the same spot, same boat I took last summer

20 years ago, or thereabouts, certainly doesn't seem that long....well.... as the old frog saying goes,..."Time's fun when you're having flies!"

Great pics Great post

Global warming is it from man? Is it from nature going threw natural rythems?
No doubt about it is happening. Be interesting since I am going to Seward haven't been there for 22 years and what I remember of the glaciers being to today.

While in Hawaii looking at property people question me why don't you want waterfront! Well lets think about this.... already planning on evacuating some islands closer to New Zealand.

I have some pics of my grandparents coming out to Mt Rainier in the depression. Moved from SD for work. The pics of Nisqually glacier were right next to the bridge... I remember around 85 going out there and it was a little tiny hike out to the glacier - today it is way up the MT far far away..........

Well, glaciers have been retreating since the Little Ice Age, so this isn't surprising, but it is kind of sad that the view is gone.

It is all my fault. I had a big party last fall. I guess I used more ice than I expected.
