Is there such a thing as "State incentives" to move to Alaska? Or is that just some thing I just made up? I rember reading something about the state giving som sort of incentive to get more people to live over there.

Truth or Urban legend?

Urban legend...you have to have a calendar year in from time to get here...Jan thru Dec...for being paid, and the $$$ are dropping..so by the time you have it in...probably not worth wages, rent-house payment, utilities, cost of living..groceries...you have to decide from there, and not a pretty picture...

And if over there..where are you coming from if straight across.. Cana-duh...?

LOL. I thought so. I always remember that simpsons episode where Homer decides to move to Alaska. When the Simpson family is entering the state there is a guy that welcomes them to the state and gives them a pack of cash. LOL

Haha, and they get snowed in... Not a fan of the Simpsons but enjoy that episode only because of Alaska.

Neither one; just a lie. Unless you have a time machine and can go back to the '30's; some farmers from the mid west were given incentives to move to the Mat Valley.

The population in certain parts of Alaska is declining; if more people were needed in those areas, that would not be the case.
