Are you from Juneau? If so...how long have you been there?

Juneau. You probably would not the weather we've had the last couple of weeks. We've had some of the heaviest rain this year.

On the contrary, I love the rain! We just don't get enough of it here in AZ. I also love sunshine so I guess it is one of those catch 22's!

If you love sunshine you don't want to live in SE/Coastal Ak. I lived a couple yrs in Sitka/Juneau, then Kodiak. All are extremely wet and sunny days are few. You would be much happier living in southcentral where there is much less rain.

I've lived in Juneau for 10 years. Juneau is really wet... it rains alot!! Take a look at http://westjuneau.com/weather/archives.htm#RAIN that will give you a good idea of what to expect. Juneau has a lot to offer but if you like warmth or sunshine it probably isn't your best bet. We've had days where we've gotten up to 2", it's generally moist and wet... doesn't dry off very often.

We recently moved from florida to Juneau. It doesn't rain here by my definition it drizzles seems like constantly but I have a job where we're outside a lot. so you put on your rain gear and go. The scenery is awesome, it is truly magical. Since we're from Florida we love the snow. Fishing is good, I picked fly fishing and it like snowboarding is awesome. In north florida hunting is huge turkey, hod, duck, deer, you name it we shoot and eat it. Here in Juneau we've got tiny deer, and ducks. so many ducks they'll eat your flies if your not careful. not a great variety f ducks thought. Most hunting much to my chagrin, is farther north. we've got sheep but regretfully you cant shoot them. Oh, prepare to spend a fortune on outs state licensing.

I still love it here and will be staying for a long while. who knows with a little luck one day we'll be able to buy a house.

Sounds like you are having a good time....I would wait as AK is behind on this recession or whatever it is, but it is happening...rent until you know for sure you can afford to buy and you have your job...Enjoy!
