My husband, myself,and our 8 yr old daughter have been toying with the idea of moving to AK. My husband is retired and it is his life long dream to live in the wilderness. We have visited there and loved it. We currently live in the mountains of western North Carolina so we are used to snow and ice but we would like to brave an Alaskan winter before making the final decision. Does anyone have any ideas on a small cabin that someone would like to rent out for the winter months? It can be rustic with an outhouse but we would like to have a school in the general vicinity. We are open to the location. Thank you for your help.
