Another question: If I get up there this summer and successfully find something that will let me stay - will I need to get all new insurance for myself and car, or will what I have from Indiana carry over for a while? :S

Hello again Alaskan friends!

My older sister is moving to Alaska at the end of this month to take a job in Anchorage, so I think I might get to come stay with her this summer and give it a test run!

I am beyond excited, so I'm searching for jobs and hope to find something that I can support myself on. If not, I'll be coming back to Indiana to go back to school this fall.

I'm still working out details of whether I am flying or driving, and if a friend is coming with me. I really don't have any other exciting details, other than how excited I am I hope everyone is doing well!!!

Did I mention I was excited?!

if there's more than one person traveling, it's definitely cheaper to drive.

If you have a truck do yourself a favor. Buy an enclosed trailer, haul it up here and sell it. Trailers sell for so much up here it is ridiculous. I had half a mind to get rid of my van, buy a 4 door truck and a large enclosed trailer to haul my stuff down and than sell the trailer. Only thing is, I would loose my hiney on selling the trailer.

Unfortunately I don't have a truck! I have a Jeep Cherokee, and I just got it a couple weeks ago when my plans were to be in FL - so I got a 2wd version for better gas efficiency... DOH!

Anyways, I think I'm flying and buying a vehicle when I get there. My parents weren't crazy about me driving there by myself, and I'll be saving some money if I fly this time when I'll need all the cash I can get.

Only a few weeks left this semester... I can make it, I can make it, I can make it!!! Hope you are all well!
