Ahhh chit.. bummer. I have heard stories in Homer of other captains, met, got crab from another captian the night before my Dad died but on the show I liked Phil the best never meeting him.

sooo young RIP Phil. Go sail all the areas you always wanted.

I just heard this now on the radio and I actually started crying(& I don't cry easily). He just seemed like such a great guy and an awesome Cap't. I hope and pray his sons will be okay as they were all very close. The C.M. will not be the same; I wonder who will become the new Cap't? Rest in peace Phil! You will be missed!

R.I.P. Phil on your new voyage into the unknown...sail the new realm with the same enthusiasm and love you sailed the Alaskan ocean.

Deadliest Catch won't be the same without 'crabby' Captain Phil. His health has been pretty poor the last few seasons so maybe this is a blessing for him.
