Howdy Folks!

New to the forum and pleased to met you all. Spent some time in the Great Land and miss the heck out of it. Gonna be nice to drop by here now and then and take a peek around. Maybe touch base w/ some folks who truly appreciate the good life in God's Country!

Hi TC!

Reading over your profile, I wonder if you have any good eatery recommendations from your perspective as a chef up here? I'm always looking for good food!

No. Warpt is a gentle soul, a follower of Gandhi. He wouldn't hurt a fly.

Howdy Folks- what a nice welcome! Thanks for the kindness!

To answer a few questions: I was in AK for 13 years, from May '92 to Sept. "05.

I started in Dutch Harbor and after enjoying many locations and regions ended up on the North Slope. I was blessed w/ great work, that allowed me to see much of the state!

I cooked for Princess and also for a caterer that did remote site work-camps for the oil, commercial fishing and mining industries.

Over the years I worked at Dutch Harbor, Valdez, on the Yukon- Galena, Ruby, Huslia & Illinois Creek Gold Mine Camp, Fbnx., The Slope, Anch./The Mat-Su Valley, Cooper Landing, Denali Park, and Admiralty Island.

I left AK to return to where I was raised in rural central Illinois to be near aging, ailing parents. Funny- when I left the Mid-West I was bored, and kinda considered this region a good place to be from- but not a place one really wished to remain. But being in the majestic, exagerated geography of Alaska taught me a new appreciation for the Heartland. AK taught me that all places are significant and majestic- in their own way.
