Are you from California?
If so what brought you here?
Are you planning to move back to California?

Are you from Alaska?
Do you want to move to California?
If so why?

I am from Alaska. I've never been to California. I do not know why. But I will never move from here. Permanantly anyway.

Been in California, live in Alaska. Was in the military in the early and mid-70's in San Francisco. What a fun place that turned out to be. NOT. What a bunch of self-centered so=and-so's. Never, not ever again. Any state that produced "I'm not fonda Jane" and embraces her and her mentality can sink into the ocean for the life of me.

Maybe you might think I'm being a little harsh here. That's OK too. You're entitled to your opinion, and you can live in California and that's OK with me, too. Just don't come up here and subject me to your opinions on my state and what you think we ought to do. You want to visit, good. Keep your opinions to yourself. My state works just fine without your 2 cents worth.

God, I'm sorry for that little diatribe. I should have kept my opinions and experiences with CA to myself. The little jerks who dumped trash across the crew of my carrier from the Golden Gate bridge are probably almost respectable hypocrites now and don't want to be reminded of their insensitive, jerkish ways 30 some years after the fact.

Not at all, it's great to see new faces. I see them walk around rubber-necking going "oh-wow" and stuff like that.
I just wish some would obey the "no-littering law". It's not a lot to ask.
But anyhoo, it's nice to see people walking around and having fun.

Yeah--I work with them and get tired of hearing how everything is done in Podunk, and the gallery I work has signs up stating that our prices are non-negotiable...they don't read those, and are forever trying to "bargain". I honestly don't know how that got started, probably with the jewelry stores that are all over the ports now....they can be insulting when we explain that we represent Alaskan artists and do not "haggle" et al...some really do want to argue over it, which is quite strange to me, and I'm wondering if they are being told on the ships that it is the way some businesses here work.

well, they can argue in one hand and crap in the other, and then see which one fills faster.
it happens here, and the carpet-baggers aren't helping any....
where you at now?
