Yes, exit 7 off the Northway still puts you quite far south of Saratoga Springs (exit 13N and really exit 14). Thanks.

If you take North Mohawk Street to the very end it will come out on Rt 9 and then take Rt 9 north to either the Northway or follow to Saratoga. From Exit 8 on the Northway it's 30 minutes to Saratoga.Much quicker than going back to Latham.

Thanks, got it. I know SS pretty well, and I think it's still an up and coming area (after the market shakes out) that has a lot to offer. Thanks again.

Most of the buildings near Washington Park are townhouses that have been converted to 4-6 bedroom apartment buildings over the years, some of them were originally. That's the Center Square neighborhood, very very nice area with lots of charm, but I think the original poster is looking for something a little different.

Default looking for an apartment also!

I will be graduating from nursing school in may and I've been thinking about moving to the Albany area. I've been looking at the harmony mills lofts but the problem I have is that I have two big labs. Does anyone know of a nice place to live that is big dog friendly?

Default Barney Square

Check out Barney Square apartments- I have huge windows, high ceilings, and can see GE from my living room- Once you get here, you will need some art work- come see me in Crossgates mall- Art Decor Superstore

I swear I'm looking at myself in 2008, I too was moving into the Albany area from out of state to work for GE and I wanted a loft style apartment. The best I found was Harmony Mills, an old cotton mill converted into beautiful apartments with 17' high ceilings.
I looked at many places but settled on Harmony Mills. The place and location are perfect, the town is not so great but who cares.
Managment here is a bit like the Gastepo but over all, the best bang for your buck if you're used to expensive NY apartments.
The amenities are great, remote control garage door for outside garages or indoor parking if available, indoor pool, decent gym, secure entry, laundry and dryer in every apartment, and new kitchen with state of the art appliances and marble counters..
The only real complaint I have is the free internet and phone - basically you get what you pay for, slow shoddy internet and it's difficult to get another carrier.
You might want to check out The Mansions at Technology Park in Rennselier (spelling), they have vaulted ceilings and garage units below the apartment with washer dryer.
Happy hunting, hope this helps.
