Anyone live in the area of Cobleskill-Schoharie-Central Bridge?
Whatcha need to know? half my family history is in the county. Know it real well. Nestled up against the foot hills of the Catskill mountains and the Schoharie valley is absolutely unmatched in its sprawling natural beauty.
Where in SC are you? I spent 23 yrs in the Carolinas
The villages of Cobleskill, Schoharie and especially Middleburgh look a lot nicer than they did 20 years ago. They have really improved those villages. Central Bridge is still pretty sleepy with few changes that I can see. It is a very pretty area and 30-40 mins from all your suburban amenities in the greater Capital District. Cobleskill has your necessities such as walmart, price chopper, fast food, a nice college. For the rest you have to head to Albany/Schenectady. Land/house prices are more affordable than the Albany area.
You could probably live in Cobleskill without a car. There is bus service to grocery stores, strip malls and SUNY. It is a small village and offers the basics. However it is a very affordable, low crime area. I believe there is also bus service on a daily basis from Cobelskill and the surrounding areas to various points in and around Albany.
