Arrived at Alb airport Sunday evening around 9PM. There was incredible wind and some rain. We settled into our hotel and slept most of yesterday after having traveled from Europe for over 24 hours.
Went out for a late bite to eat at Whole Foods. We like vegetarian food...so if anyone can recommend a good vegetarian restaurant, that would be great.
Then DH and I arose this morning at 4.30AM.....still operating on Italy time I guess.
We decided to drive out to Sandia Peak and see the sunrise. We arrived there around 5.30. It is truly majestic up there. We did a walking meditation until the sun came up at around 6AM. Watching it peek up and come all the way up took about 12 minutes. It was like watching a birth. Incredibly beautiful.
What a way to start out the day! We plan to go back later this week to watch the sunset.
If we decide to retire here, we would prefer to live somewhere safe where we can see the sunset or sunrise. Any ideas are welcomed.
We are in awe of the natural beauty here.
We 'll stay here until Sunday when we go to Las Cruces for a week.
So far, so great, whitelotus

We like this place:
Annapurna's World Vegetarian Cafe, Chai Shoppe: Albuquerque, Santa Fe

They have two locations in ABQ (one near UNM and in the North Valley) and another location in Santa Fe.

The veg thali is always delicious.

Try to check out the sunrise from over in Rio Rancho. I'm not big on RR, but it does have a spectacular view of the Sandias and you get a completely different perspective over there. Awesome sight when storms are moving in!
