Last night, I went to Cinemark Movies West to see Iron Man 2, and noticed that in the theater I was in, that it had the old seats from Century Rio 24 (it even had the Century Theatres logo on it).

While these seats do not recline, they do have moveable armrests and are taller than the Cinemark Movies West's original seats. From what I was told, currently 2 out of 8 screens there have them.

The new seats at Century Rio 24 DO recline and are leather. I wonder if Cinemark Movies West will soon be getting more of the old Century Rio 24 seats soon.

Yes, I know that, however, I find it interesting that the Cinemark Movies West is getting the old seats from Century Rio 24.

Well, what I really find surprising is that they would even bother upgrading the seats. While these seats from Century Rio 24 don't recline, they at least have moveable armrests and are more comfortable overall than the existing seats. Normally you would only find these type of seats in a stadium-style theater.

I went to the Cinemark on San Mateo once and the experience was crappy. The place was loaded with stupid kids, both teenagers and young adults. A lot of them had the gang banger or homeboy look. This is also the only theater I've been to where several people were talking (whispering) and texting on their cell phones, at different times throughout the movie!

I know the admission is only $1.00 and this is probably a given, but does Cinemark West attract the same type of patrons?

I've never had that problem at any other movie theater. Maybe I'm just lucky or something. The movie we saw was more for grownups than it was for kids, so I was surprised to see so many young people in there. And it seemed as if everyone in there was on their phones. Honestly I never seen such a thing at other theaters.
