I'm looking to find the GREAT buffets in Albuquerque.

Places where you might pay a premium but the food is actually really really good and/or unusual.

So.... ideas? I'm definitely partial to locally owned places, and casinos are OK.

A good example would be the now-defunct brunch buffet at Nob Hill Bar & Grill. Perhaps running a high quality buffet is not profitable, so what we are left with is Golden Corral, etc.

Thanks for any feedback you've got!

I'll throw in my own experiences:

Namaste in Rio Rancho - fabulous food all around.
Lin's (is it called something else now?) on Coors Rd - not bad.....
Evergreen Buffet on Juan Tabo - actually pretty decent.

One of the keys to a good buffet if you really want to have the best possible food is simply to show up WHEN THEY OPEN. This is not always tenable as a diner, but kind of obvious if you think about the nature of steam tables and heat lamps. :-)

Keep the suggestions coming!

I have been in different Golden Corral's with different results. The last time I was in Albuquerque though, the one on Central and Eubank didn't disappoint. Love them fruits and veggies! And the place was busy!

The Santa Ana Cafe at the Hyatt Tamaya near Bernalillo offers a very good prime rib buffet on Fridays (maybe Saturdays too?). And if you are locals you can get a 20% discount.
