It amazes me how the Sandias can change from hour to hour or day to day. This is what they generally look like from my place on the morning following an evening rainstorm.
I'm about 10 miles SE of Santa Fe, and can see the Sandias 60 miles to the SW from my kitchen window.
Pretty nice hiking trails, and a nice change of pace from hiking around the Santa Fe area.
My dogs like the Sandias too, as their are streams than can drink and play in.
We have a great view from the house we are renting and wake up to the sunrise on weekends, it will make it hard to move somewhere else when we are ready to buy here.
I've always wondered if the original settlers/natives/whatever attributed any particular spirit to the Sandias. I think she looks like a mountain lion from my usual morning view. And I think the mountain is a 'she'.
