Does anyone have any experience (good, bad or otherwise) with any acupuncturist in the Rio Rancho area? I know there are many around, but would love to hear from someone who has personally had experience with any of them.
I went to Red Phoenix Acupunture when I was 42 weeks pregnant and wanted to labor to start w/o getting medically induced. I've never done acupuncture before so I don't have anything to compare to but Dr Amy was nice, was able to see me right away, and it did get the job done.
I tried it when I lived in Vegas and personally I don't think it does anything for pain. I went to a highly recommended acupuncturist for shoulder pain. I had dislocated it years ago in high school wrestling. I gave it 6 months and a lot of $$$. It would feel better for a day. Then ache the same as before the next day. I don't think the acupuncture itself helped at all. But the massage afterwards would relax the muscle, which helped. Now I just take ibuprofen daily and go for a massage occasionally. A lot less money and better results.
I've never tried acupuncture myself, but my chiropractor's office has an acupunturist (i think that's how its spelled), and she is supposed to be really good. My massage therapist there uses her.
Does anyone know of any good acupuncturists in Albuquerque who do not use moxibustion? I find the fumes bothersome (even if I'm not even the one undergoing the treatment).
I went to Dr. Jamie McLaughlin, and she never used moxa. I don't remember ever smelling it in her office. She's fantastic - I highly recommend her. Her office is on 4th street, in the same complex as Annapurna.
