They can stay in Los Angeles as far as I'm concerned. Once, while lunching at Nicks on Central, they were filiming, and the film crew was eating there as well. While waiting for my to go order, some woman was demanding that THEIR food come out first - before anyone's in that restraurant...because THEY are making a movie, and the director and producer must eat before anyone else in that restraurant. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Pleeeeeeeaaaze. I explained to her how here in Albuqueruque, we could care less. Wait your turn. They can keep their cameras and their "me first" Los Angeles mentality on the freeways as far as I'm concerned. I'm not at all impressed.
I agree that they don't need to come in here with their pretentious LA attitude. However, I fully support the industry moving here, and the jobs and money they create for thousands of New Mexicans. I'm willing to deal with a closed streets here and there in hopes of building a solid movie/TV establishment in NM. In fact the LA Times reported yesterday that Hollywood is lobbying the California Governor to match the incentives offered here. Texas has done the same, and many other states are jumping on board. With the exception of California, the good news for us is we are building the required studios, educational program, and other infrastructure to make a viable industry out of this. I say Kudos to Gov. Richardson and Mayor Chavez!
