You are absolutely right. Acoma pueblo is especially unique and wonderful. Bandelier is a great place to visit as well.

For indoor stuff, there's also IT'Z. There's games, rides, and an all-you-can-eat buffet with several different themed rooms to eat in.

The spring winds can be nasty so check the weather before heading out for outdoor activities. It might be calm in the morning, but by the afternoon, it's windy.

I grew up here and my parents always took us on day & weekend trips camping/fishing/hunting/hiking throughout the year. We saw most of the museums, National and State parks in the process (nothing quite like sleeping under the stars at Chaco Canyon on a clear summer night).

In addition to all that, we were in 4H and raised livestock to show/feed/water/butcher, so we didn’t have time to get all that bored.
