I'm pretty handy with toast myself, but I'd consider myself more of a journeyman. I do my best work with Fano brand sourdough bread, admittedly a personal preference but it gives me good results. I can't say that I'd call myself a toast-master until I learn to stop burning the edges, so I'm going to need more practice.
Did I mention that I'm also considered a bit of a smart-alec?
I'm in the process of moving to an Alaskan town of maybe 2500 people. I'd imagine that they'll all be pretty sick of hearing me yammer about in pretty short order.

Oh, so that means that you'll likely be keeping a relatively
low profile? <Snort!>
BTW, when you get there and start harassing the locals on
the City-Data Forum, it would be 'nice' to give a head's up
over here so the NM people can lurk a bit.
PLEASE let us know how you like the Aurora Borealis and tell
us if you can hear it.
Yeah, Ive been there already, I actually found this forum searching for some specific information on Alaska. We've lived there before, but this time we're moving to a much different and far less populated area. When we lived in Eagle River (near Anchorage), it was almost like living in any other medium-sized city, with the exception of the moose and bear in peoples yards. This time around, we're moving to a little place in SE Alaska, not far from Juneau.
I've seen the aurora many, many times before. It was my frequent companion on those long, sleepless nights awake with a colicky newborn in my arms. I've even seen an awsome auroral display during the short, twilight "night" of mid-summer when I was working outdoors. Never have heard it so far, though I've been listening.
Right now, things are a frantic jumble of activity: garage sale tomorrow, house on the market the next day, movers in a couple of weeks, gone by probably mid-September.
Yikes, better get to bed and get some sleep! Or at least try not to stay awake worrying about carrying two mortgages till the house sells.
