Just remember to ask for the "secret" or Chinese or other menu, if you want their more authentic/specialty options. This post from a different thread is helpful:

I've been rather quiet lately, so my apologies for that. I'll have some comments on recent threads to post shortly, but first I'd like to lob a question at y'all:

BEST PAD THAI? Who makes awesome Pad Thai in the ABQ metro area? What, in your evaluation, makes a good Pad Thai good? What makes BAD Pad Thai bad?

Thank you so much and hope everyone is having a great week.

Andrea

Hmm, Tao's.... I will have to check this out. Anything else new and interesting in Rio Rancho in the last, say, year?

Getting fed up in general with so many restaurants not being able to get simple orders correct, so much of the time.

I have had some uneven experiences lately.

I had to send back my two most recent Frontier plates for being undercooked; unmelted cheese in my enchiladas. They also stiffed me on an extra tortilla I had ordered in a to-go order.

Considering how often I eat there, It is probably insignificant, but all three of the above incidents occured in a two week period.

I think I like Taqueria Mexico even more now than I did before. The prices are much better than many places selling food that isn't even as good. The service is polite and friendly in a low-key way. Also, I don't think they've ever gotten any aspect of my order wrong. The taco shells do tend to fall apart if you aren't eating them immediately, so I think it's best to go with something else for takeout.

I finally got around to trying the tortas and they are good too, better than I'd expected.

The only thing that I've tried that really disappointed me was the milanesa. I had one of their chicharron burrito lately, which ended up being kind of oily, but I liked it when I had it as part of a breakfast burrito (and even the straight chicharron burrito was still okay--just definitely not something to be proud to tell your doctor you ate).
